The Library has been enlarging and updating our local history and genealogy department over the last few years. If you have family, historical, and local materials that you would like to place in our department; please do not hesitate to contact us. We would be pleased to photocopy pictures or materials to place in our department.
The centerpiece of our department concentrates on books and vertical files related to Pell City, St. Clair County and the surrounding area. We also have some microfilm available for public use. We also offer online access to Heritage Quest and Ancestry Library Edition.
Several individuals along with the assistance of the library began a project several years ago of interviewing older local residents for an oral history project. The individual discs are available for in-house use. If you would like to recommend someone for the library to interview; please contact us.
